God, or one could go with the reverse, that love itself is a form of religion and faith, one's lover being their angel. As such I'll cover both points of view: Love: As a love song, they start off as a child, just starting to look into the concept of love but not really understanding it, not able to play to a serious relationship yet.

They decide to skip ahead of that and go for the real deal from the start, the whole "yeu'll get love when yeu're older" and after dating many times over just isn't worth it, nor are one night stands, or arranged marriages. Time goes quickly, but drags on so slowly as well; spend all the time looking for someone to truly care deep down, more than just the outer shell. As time passes, things go wrong in their life, they could've been rich, could've been famous, could've had a wonderful wife, but it all falls apart as it does to so many.

The job doesn't turn out, the fame doesn't show, the love doesn't last. Still young, no reason to dwell on it, they get back up on their feet and go at it again, insistant to get it right this time.

The wheel is circular though, as hard as yeu push it, yeu just end up going in circles and wind up back where yeu started. But at the same time, it means yeu have multiple chances to get it right as well; yeu learn from experience, in the end, yeu might just get it right, even if things have never worked out from the start before. Just have to keep trying until the dice land right. Religion: Starting out early in life, we're given religious views from birth quite often.

After touring worldwide in support of their previous album, , which saw the band move from progressive rock towards a pop-oriented and commercially accessible direction, Yes started work on a follow-up in with producer Trevor Horn. It was a laborious album to make; recording began at Carimate, Italy, but internal and creative differences resulted in production to resume in London, where Horn ended his time with the band due to continuing problems.

Operation: Mindcrime Expanded. Originally released on May 3, , the album was reissued on May 6, with two bonus tracks, and again in as a deluxe box set. A concept album and a rock opera, its story follows Nikki, a recovering drug addict who becomes disillusioned with the corrupt society of his time and reluctantly becomes involved with a revolutionary group as an assassin of political leaders. In January , it ranked at No. The album was certified by the RIAA as 'gold' a year after its release, and it was certified as 'platinum' in Fair Warning Remastered.

Dreamline's okay live, Bravado's pretty nice, Roll The Bones is catchy until it gets annoying and every thing else is just You're sillyThis Message Edited On Decent review, of a quality album.

Definitly one of my favorite later day Rush albums. I love the rap in Roll The Bones. Especially effective live, when a giant skeleton is rapping. Pretty good review, lol. Finally a review for this album! Ive been debating buying it, but i wasnt sure about it. And to Iluvatar, id say their low point was more or less Power windows or Test for Echo. Well, i can see where your goin but for me, Big money was best off that album, the rest was alright.

And Dreamline is an awesome song. So far as they write songs. The rest of it, well, it's fairly average, but they get away with it fairly nicely while making the most of it. Your review is fine, RNR, but a review of all the songs on an album in a tbt is most desirable. Album Rating: 3. I haven't heard too much from between Moving Pictures and this, though.

But Counterparts was a marked improvement on this.

From a lyrical perspective, 's Roll the Bones is quite possibly Rush's darkest album (most of the songs deal with death in no uncertain terms), but from a musical point of view, the record treads territory (highbrow melodic hard rock) similar to its recent predecessors, with only a few surprises thrown in for good measure. These include an amusing rap section in the middle of the title track, a welcome return 6/

Roll the bones. Why are we here? Because we’re here. Roll the bones Why does it happen? Because it happens. Roll the bones. Faith is cold as ice — Why are little ones born only to suffer For the want of immunity Or a bowl of rice? Well, who would hold a price On the heads of the innocent children If there’s some immortal power To control.
